Student Expectations

Student Responsibility

Every student is responsible for helping maintain a safe, orderly and educationally efficient learning environment. Students are expected to:

  • Attend school every day and be on time for every class.
  • Be prepared for class with necessary materials (binder, agenda, Hayes Card, pencil/pen, notebook), a positive attitude, and ready to learn.
  • Complete assigned class work and homework daily and to the best of your ability.
  • Bring and carry your agenda and Hayes Card at all times. Agenda must be out on your desk for every class and write your assignments/homework.
  • Wear your student ID above your waist at all times.
  • No food is allowed out of the cafeteria or at the grass field.
  • Clean up after yourself in the cafeteria.
  • Follow the dress code.
  • Resolve differences with others in a positive, non-violent way.
  • Remain drug, alcohol, and tobacco free
  • Respect school property and the property of others.
  • Respect fellow students and all school staff.
  • Comply with the standards of behavior for your classroom, your school, and our district.

Students are expected to be good citizens. They are expected to:

  • Model and promote the pillars of CHARACTER COUNTS! (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship)
  • Respect authority, property, and the rights of others.
  • Avoid confrontation and any activity that has the potential to cause a verbal or physical conflict.
  • Maintain a safe school environment.
  • Report any/all information/circumstances related to campus safety and problems (bullying, fights, weapons, or drugs on campus).
